Lots of brands have collars that are either too small and/or have the belt-style buckle, but having trouble finding a strong, thick leather collar with a metal quick release buckle

Does your dog turn his head when he hears an odd noise? Does your dog bury their food with your pants? This is the thread to ask why.
Please keep this thread to non-medical issues only.

As funny as it sounds idk what to do??? I recently took in a 6 month old (2 at the time) yorkie. Initially when we got her it was mid summer during tourist season where I live and I worked a lot of late nights. additionally, in later August-early September I took a trip and was away from her for awhile… ever since I’ve been home she won’t stop. Any opportunity she has that I’m just laying down or sitting down she aggressively humps my leg, I could literally lift my Leg all the way in the air to shake her off and she’s still hanging on. Even if I yell at her she stops and will slowly approach me as if she’s sorry or doing something else and just go right back to it. I wish I was joking but I’m genuinely wondering what’s going on… (sorry if the flair is wrong I don’t even know what to call this 😭)

2 year old kelpie x labrador
Since we got her she hasn't been very cuddly or loving, she'll be pet fine and shes excited and stuff when we come home or she meets a stranger but she doesnt come to us for pets or cuddles which we're completely fine with.
Recently though shes been following us around the house, crying and howling when shes left alone and laying down in weird places and falling fast asleep like in the middle of the stairs or in the bathroom, when we approach her in this position she was her tail and her ears go back and she runs away. she headbutts for pets (which we happily give her).
Is this normal? Could it be a phase shes coming out of/starting? Could it just be heat?

Which pet insurance is best for you? Are there any that may cover your dog's current treatment? Did your dog get injured during the waiting period and want to know if you're covered?
Here's the place to ask.
Do know we cannot help you here with medical concerns, and lying or not disclosing things to the insurance company is illegal so we don't allow that either.

i got a presa canario puppy three weeks ago, and they’ve been the most stressful weeks ever. from peeing on my bed to pooping in my freshly washed shoes, i’m frustrated. i’ve tried everything so she knows where to go to the bathroom but it’s honestly impossible; not even watching my other trained dog helps her understand. plus, i taught her to give her paw and to lay down, but it seems like she forgot it all from one day to the next (i practiced with her several times a day) and suddenly she forgot everything. i’m frustrated, i really give up

Hey guys
So for the last week my 3 year old Chihuahua (Grub) has been waking up at 3/4 am. He wakes up, sits up alert and starts shaking violently. Like he's terrified. When I turn on my bedroom light he just looks around and continues to shake.
He does this until I let him out of my room and he gets into my mum's bed with her dog Bear (he's obsessed with bear as he's our elder dog and he loves him). He doesn't shake in her room.
He's never done this before and it's hard not to take it personally (like love meeee I spend so much money on youuuuu). I don't know how to stop it and keep him in my room as usual. It's keeping me up at night with the shaking so I can't just ignore it.
Any help would be great xxx

It all started with a hole puncher, about 2 years ago. She heard the loud click of the thing and immediate bolted downstairs where she stayed for 30 minutes, she was shaking, and we couldn't get through to her at all. It very slowly started to escalate to beeping noises, anything with a high enough pitch sent her into panic mode, so we did everything we could to avoid beeping.
Recently, probably over the last 3 months or so, sounds that aren't even that loud frighten her, it can be a low beep from the car when we're pressing the breaks, someone dropping something in the other room or even rummaging through utensils.
I talked to the vet about this and they said it's not uncommon for older dogs to become sound-phobic, but they didn't prescribe anything to help. Should I ask again if I could get some anti-anxiety meds for her, or should I try something else?
