My fiancé and I have a 10 month old Lab mix puppy, we’re constantly training him everywhere we go and it’s all going very well however we noticed on walks he has selective hearing when it’s both of us walking him rather than if it’s just one of us walking him but lately I haven’t been walking him alone as I’m 3 months pregnant and haven’t been feeling the best and my fiancé didn’t want me walking him alone on icy trails so we’re not sure if it’s solely because of me or not.
I’m starting to feel better now so I have been going on walks with them more and more to hopefully be able to walk him again by myself once the trails are cleared. We’re desperate to find a solution as otherwise he’s absolutely perfect. He’s not reactive, he doesn’t bark at other dogs or people. He’s such a friendly puppy and loves to play fetch.
The issue is that he seems to want to do whatever he wants when we’re both walking him, trying to eat stuff off the ground and recall mostly.
Has this happened to anyone else and how can we fix this?
