I just had my first emergency vet visit and I feel awful

I have a now 16 week Sheltie. I've had her for 3 weeks now.

We were playing on the deck because she's not allowed to have her feet on the ground anywhere except for in the house and on the deck. Thankfully that will change in a week now that she just had her 4th round of vaccines.

Anyway, we were playing on the deck and she was running as she often does. She slides a lot because of the slick floor. I saw her slide – no worse than any other time, in fact less than other times – and shortly after she started limping and didn't want to put weight on them.

I, much to my partners objection, freaked out. Promptly took her to the vet in tears. I was dying inside until the vet came back with the news.

Long story short: it's just a sprain and she was given a few days of pain meds and told to rest during that time.
