We have a 10 week old field/working golden who we’ve had since 8 weeks. The first two days were perfect and then once she got comfortable, the biting started. You read a-lot about nipping when they are young but she really bites; She’ll latch onto our hands/feet and refuse to open her jaw.
Making whimper noises just makes her latch on more, we’re attempting reverse timeouts but we’re not seeing much of an effect; As soon as we start play again, she’ll come back for more.
We do crate train her with forced naps (2 hours sleep for every 45mins of play, was originally an hour but we shortened it).
It really ruins our ability to bond/play with her and make productive use of her awake time.
Is 10 weeks too young to get expect a change in behaviour? We’re worried that she’s growing fast and soon she could do some real damage, we’re already covered in cuts on our arms and legs.
