Hi guys!
My gf and myself went and picked up our GSD pup 2 weeks ago. So far we're really enjoying it but we habe one issue.
Whenever we put him in his crate at 10-11 pm he doesn't whine , immediately lays down and stays calm and sleepy. I put an alarm at 3-4 am for potty break and immediately put him back in , again no problem whatsoever.
However , during the day either one of us goes to walk with him at 7:30 , feeds him plays with him etc for about an hour and then put him in his crate to go to work , and he starts crying and panting and trying to bite his bench etc , pulling the blanket covering his crate inside.
We don't even know if it stops till i get home at 11:30 but i'll come in and see him lying down but wide awake and visibly stressed.
This causes him to be overtired and destructive but he won't go to sleep, instead he'll ignore chew toys etc and will literally only chew things he's not allowed. Even treats will sometimes not interest him.
Since he won't sleep due to being overtired outside of his crate i try and put him back in it but as long as it's during the day he won't sleep or chill.
How is there such a big difference between night and daytime and what can we do to solve this?
