Should I still crate my puppy even if he resists going in?
Asking again because the last one didn't really give me a clear answer.
I know you're not supposed to force your dog into the crate as it builds negative association. However, apparently you're supposed to crate your dog from day 1 to start building the habit early on.
My puppy is 15 weeks old and I've had him 3 days. Several times a day I've been trying to make him like the crate (feeding him in there, special toys, etc). However, he still does not like to go in the crate.
Do I still crate him even though he's fighting me, or do I wait until he goes in the crate willingly? If your advice is to wait, what should I do with him at night?

how much time do you actually spend with your puppy
My puppy is 14 weeks old and I’ve been low-key neglecting work to watch after her but I was wondering what everyone’s day with their puppy look like because time is starting to not go by as slowly as when I first brought her home but sometimes I feel like when she’s awake all of my time is for her
🥹 tell me I’m not the only one I swear I’m not trying to have her develop separation anxiety i do leave her alone to play in her pen by herself but sometimes she doesn’t

Justice Rescue Siblings/Breed Guess
I recently adopted a dog from Justice Rescue (Pennsylvania) and I suspect she's a different breed mix than they had guessed. Some of the dogs in this litter were named Gabby, Greg, Gretchen, and Gwen. The bio said they were rescued from poor living conditions by another org that was at capacity and asked Justice Rescue for assistance. I'm wondering (1) does anyone have a guess for the breed mix and (2) did anyone who adopted one of these dogs do a DNA test? I'm considering a DNA test, but I'm not sure how helpful it will be.

Megathread: Why Does My Dog Do That?
Does your dog turn his head when he hears an odd noise? Does your dog bury their food with your pants? This is the thread to ask why.
Please keep this thread to non-medical issues only.

Megathread: Pet Insurance
Which pet insurance is best for you? Are there any that may cover your dog's current treatment? Did your dog get injured during the waiting period and want to know if you're covered?
Here's the place to ask.
Do know we cannot help you here with medical concerns, and lying or not disclosing things to the insurance company is illegal so we don't allow that either.

Half way to potty trained
Hello everyone! I got my lovely boy at the start of September. He is currently 18 weeks old.
Through consistent letting out my boy now knows he needs to go outside for potty. Through September and mid October I would leave the door open as the weather was still quite nice but he has gotten used to constant access to the back garden. Now my problem is, I can’t keep the door open constantly as November in the UK is FREEZING! I can no longer keep the door open constantly.
Now I feel as if I’m back to square 1 because he hasn’t learnt to tell me he needs to go outside. He’ll potty near the door but that’s the best I’ve gotten.
We tried bells for 11 days but he runs away as soon as he hears them ring during training. And I’ve been trying to stick to opening the door and saying ‘wee wees’ every 3 hours but he’ll still potty inside!
What should my next steps be? I’m so lost!
