My gsd/husky pup is almost 13 monthes and I think in her, hopefully last, fear period. shes super skittish about anything different, example a house we walk by every day has a big stone birdbath and theyve taken the top off for winter and she spooks at it, normally it's not so bad I can handle the little jerk and get her settled back in the problem right now is we're getting days of winter weather and things can be a bit icy and slippery and im worried about falling and that adds to her axiousness

So I have a 7 Month old Dalmatian that cant settle outside of his crate or his playpen. I take him out to roam the apartment but he always flips and starts to get uncontrolled zoomies and can’t get any rest. He‘s allowed on the sofa but he then wants to cuddle and after two mins he starts bitting…

How can I help him to settle outside of his crate/playpen so ha can also have some free roam of the apartment..

I do some mental stimulation with him, every two weeks we have Mantrailing but apart from that we keep walks rather short due to overstimulation (we live in a city) bur I do try to go into the woods for longer walks 1-2 times a week. And ‚normal‘ training each day in small chunks

Trying to find puppy trainers in Connecticut and the ones I see they was like 3-5k which is outrageous imo. Petamart prices are decent, just curious if anybody have had success with them.

this title sounds funny but i didn’t know what else to name it😭for context i have an almost 5 month old poochon.

she’s very smart and learns new commands within a few minutes i swear (eg sit when i got her on her first day months ago, paw, etc). however im new to a puppy, i’ve had dogs before but they were family dogs and rescues so it was very different.

i feel like im not maximizing her potential LOL, does anyone have tips? i’ve also trained her to not pee at night and stuff (she sleeps with me i gave up on crate training) but during the day she still pees at home but she just misses the pee pad it’s so inconsistent. and sometimes she’ll go crazy in the evening and poo randomly although it’s usually in her pen.

that’s honestly the only problem apart from her rly liking chewing paper towels (normal puppy behaviour?).

oh she also tends to get super possessive over treats and random food she finds on walks which is kinda concerning…

but apart from addressing these problems, any other tips or stuff i should train her to do?

i’m also a uni student living with housemates if that matters

I recently adopted my dog around June and she’s been pretty easy to exercise and tire out before it got very cold. She’s about 2 years old and after doing a dna test, she’s mostly apbt/gsd. We walk every morning, mostly allowing her to sniff but doing a little bit of training outside as well. We train inside and play before I go to work. She also spends the whole day with a rover sitter twice a week. We train daily and I try to take her to a new location for a hike at least once a week. I also have used slow feeders, kongs, and lick mats. Really just looking for a way to continue to keep her fulfilled as we live in a one bedroom apartment in a city. She is my first dog and although I think I’m doing very well considering, I’m curious what I can do to keep her more fulfilled as I realize others have more experience than I do. Looking for any tips and tricks, thanks!

I have a beautiful natured female cavoodle pup, age 17 weeks. She’s gorgeous and I love her. The issue is my partner’s kelpie, who is not desexed (unsure if this is causing extra aggression?) The kelpie has already bitten puppy (lucky, no damage was done) however each time I visit, I have to keep her on a lead. Each interaction between the kelpie and the pup (even while on the lead) results in growling from the kelpie and in some instances him getting ready to bite (fang display).

My partner says that we need to give it more time, but it’s just exhausting constantly being on watch and keeping her on the lead (it feels cruel). Open to any advice.

My White swiss shepard (edited) puppy is arriving in 3 weeks. I got the basics covered: Kong, snuff mat, chew toys, puzzle feeder. But ofc…to make my time pass more quickly I wanna buy more xD (dog cannot have enough toys heh) so I’m looking for something a bit more special.

What toys have actually worked really well for your puppies? Any other must-haves?
