  • Puppy and not desexed adult kelpie

I have a beautiful natured female cavoodle pup, age 17 weeks. She’s gorgeous and I love her. The issue is my partner’s kelpie, who is not desexed (unsure if this is causing extra aggression?) The kelpie has already bitten puppy (lucky, no damage was done) however each time I visit, I have to keep her on a lead. Each interaction between the kelpie and the pup (even while on the lead) results in growling from the kelpie and in some instances him getting ready to bite (fang display).

My partner says that we need to give it more time, but it’s just exhausting constantly being on watch and keeping her on the lead (it feels cruel). Open to any advice.

  • Best puppy toys? Recomendadtions 🙂

My White swiss shepard (edited) puppy is arriving in 3 weeks. I got the basics covered: Kong, snuff mat, chew toys, puzzle feeder. But ofc…to make my time pass more quickly I wanna buy more xD (dog cannot have enough toys heh) so I’m looking for something a bit more special.

What toys have actually worked really well for your puppies? Any other must-haves?

  • Toys for deaf dogs?

Hi, about 6 months ago my dog went deaf. She used to love playing with squeaky toys but since she can no longer hear the squeak she doesn’t play with them anymore.

Does anyone have any experience/ideas of toys I can get to keep her entertained? She has no hearing at all now so a louder toy won’t work. I just want her to be able to have fun again. Thanks

  • Am I Expecting Too Much from the Groomer?

I have a little Yorkipoo, she’s not a fan of nail trimming but otherwise a fairly easy groom. She’s kept brushed at home and we get her groomed every four weeks. I don’t know if I expect too much, or if I‘m right to be concerned.

We recently left our former groomer of 3 years and started up with another highly recommended groomer In town. I showed her pictures, and talked through how we like her cut. She has groomed my dog 4-5 times now—she looks like a radically different dog every time I pick her up. The only thing consistent about the hair cuts is that she leaves the chin long like a billy goat and never goes back to catch that little spot mid-throat where the grooming tether sits—she just skips this spot. I could have worked through this, but the last time I picked up my dog, the groomer/owner left the dog she was grooming unattended on the grooming table to check me out and have chatty conversation with another customer waiting to check in. She never even glanced back at the dog still tethered to the grooming table…this went on for maybe 5-6 minutes. Would that be a deal breaker for you?

  • doormat for muddy paws – muddy mat vs ikea Toftbo mat

Hi everyone, I have been searching for a door mat solution for my 4-month-old puppy's muddy paws. I saw the Mudbuster container, but I really don't think it is worth it in my case, as it seems you need to change the water every time you clean a paw… so either I buy four containers or my pup is not going to sit quietly at the entrance while I go to the kitchen and change the water.
I started looking into mats, and I saw the muddy mat on Amazon. Does anyone have experience with it? Does it really work? What's the difference with the Ikea TOFTBO bath mat? The outside looks very similar, but the one from Ikea is obviously cheaper. Does anyone have a similar alternative or can share their experience with the muddy mat or any other mat? Thanks!

  • I need some help and advise to see our futur together

Hi ! I adopted a Samoyede 3 months ago, she is almost 6 months.

She is sweet, a little distant but sweet.

She still have some potty accident (maybe 2 or 3 a week) but she had a lot of urinary infection when we got her (so i think she is a bit late, we go out 7times a day). She now start to know how to play alone. She doesn’t destroy that much. She is scared of nothing outside, inside almost nothing (vacume and hairdryer is scary even for me ahah).

The thing is, we can’t do anything. She can’t stay alone cause she barks a lot. We tried some music, occupation, go for a short amount of time but she barks everytime.

Everytime she have to calm down, she barks before. If she wants attention she barks. If we invite some people over she barks.

During our walk she kinda attack us when she is frustrated (it’s better now but she still does it). We don’t have her attention so she never listen to us.

I see a lot of improvment but I dont see my future like this. I cant do anything… I got a severe puppy blues when i got her. I am still in it.

Do you have advise ? Can you share your experience ? Can you share whats your life looks like with your dog ?

Please help me I am so sad and nervous all the time…

  • Is this lack of affection normal?

My pup is almost 5 months old, he's been with us for 2 months and he hasn't shown any signs of affection towards us yet. When he's on the bed or couch he will always go as far away as possible – not even touching. He doesn't care about getting pets either and seems happier to play with his toys alone. He cries when I leave the room and follows me around the house but I think it's fomo.

I'm really surprised because he's a companion breed that are known for being foot-warmers. My previous puppies have been so cuddly and always want to sit in my lap, snuggle and get pets. I do puppy training classes with him and was hoping to see more bonding with him but its not happening.

Does anyone have experience with a dog like this? Do they ever end up loving you? I feel like I'm doing all the work of raising a puppy without the moments that make it feel worth it.
