  • Megathread: Pet Insurance

Which pet insurance is best for you? Are there any that may cover your dog's current treatment? Did your dog get injured during the waiting period and want to know if you're covered?

    Here's the place to ask.

Do know we cannot help you here with medical concerns, and lying or not disclosing things to the insurance company is illegal so we don't allow that either.

  • The cutest drama king ever..do other pups do this too? 💕

My cute lil pup "Buttercup" has proudly entered his dramatic-"oh no, life is so hard" era, and my heart simply cannot cope 💕

Every teeny-weeny inconvenience turns him into a tiny emotional cupcake. No extra treat? He lets out the softest, saddest little huff Blanket moved an inch? Instant "my world is upside down" whimper. I say "wait"? He gives me the longest, most heartbroken "how could you?" puppy groan. And then he does the grand finale- flopping onto the floor with those big innocent eyes, the tiniest pout and his "kiss me right now, I am suffering" baby face. He looks like the sweetest, squishiest, most dramatic muffin ever baked🐾

Do other pups do this too? Or is mine just proudly living his best adorable, kissable, drama king life? 💖

  • HELP!! It’s been a month and my puppy still won’t house train.

Ok, Reddit, I need you guys to help me save my sanity. I (31 F) bought a munchkin bernedoodle puppy over Canadian Thanksgiving weekend as an emotional support pet as my husband and I are TTC and have had 5 pregnancy losses since April. Puppy is about 14 weeks old currently and about 10-11 lbs. The breeder had taught all of the puppies in her litter to pee on pads indoors and told me that other families who had bought her puppies in the past attested they are typically house trained within 24 hours. I have 3 children 6 and under to manage and I live in a townhouse with no yard, so this sounded great. She did great the first 3 days, but after that the accidents started…and they haven’t stopped. I’ve googled and read up on puppies and training, etc. and I’ve done all the things. But she STILL pees in my house 1-3 times daily. The only place she will not pee is inside her own kennel where she spends a lot of time because I can’t leave her alone without coming back to a puddle of pee on the floor. She goes out every hour to hour and a half, she gets treats for potties, she goes out as soon as she comes out of her kennel if it’s been more than 30 minutes since she went in, she doesn’t have access to water all day but just at meals 3-4 times a day, and I take her out within 30-40 minutes of her meals. Our neighbourhood is quiet and low stress but we do live in Edmonton, Alberta which is cold over the fall & winter. I’m at the point where I am seriously considering rehoming her. She’s a nice dog otherwise but this potty training is making me crazy and causing a lot of tension between my husband and I. She was supposed to be a comfort for me, but she’s causing more stress than she is bringing comfort.

  • Morning post-crate craziness

Hello! For those of you that crate trained your pups, does anyone else have a dog that goes nutso crazy with excitment when you let them out in the morning? Generally speaking, my 5 month old Bichon is pretty chill save for occasional zoomies, however in the morning you would think he has never seen the outside of a crate a single day of his life. He shoots out of there, wiggling, barking and excite-peeing. If so, is this something he will eventually grow out of? Is it something to just get used to? It is pretty overwhelming!

  • Biting to communicate

I have a 4.5 month old ESS that has been teething & still has most of his puppy teeth. We’ve done all the things with redirection, walking away, etc & he’s finally learning to control his sharkiness a bit more. However, I’ve noticed he communicates when he needs to go potty or when he’s hungry by biting feet/ankles or pulling on clothing. I don’t want to discourage him from alerting that he needs to go outside, but I want him to stop biting. Has anyone else experienced this & what method worked to get the puppy to learn another way to communicate?

  • how to stop stepping on paws on walks.

ive done it before and I did it twice today I feel bad but she was completely fine I inspected her paws and she's been running around since. The thing is any tips to get her to consistently walk beside me? She does most of the time when I ask and listens to 'here" but sometimes she just goes right infront of me and I have to quickly stop but I cant all the time.

today the first time was because we were jogging a bit in some grass and she just sprinted infront of me leading me to end up on the grass wit her which she seemed very excited about to be fair lol. The second was we were walking and a dog I think behind a wooden fence was barking and she not knowing where it was coming from wrapped around my legs.

she's a mini dachshund so its like really difficult to consistently like use a treat so she follows my side like commonly suggested. because she's so low down. Any tips?

  • Selling dog collars question

Hey all, sorry if this isn't allowed here but I was wondering do any of you know of a subreddit where I can sell of some carved/tooled leather dog collars? They are made by me. We are moving cross country soon and we **need** to get rid of stuff. Thanks all.

If this question is not allowed, I understand.

Looking for a subreddit to try and clear extra stock. I sell on etsy, instagram and marketplace.
