I’ve been trying to teach my dog to play tug more and it’s been working, but I’ve been having the same issue as in the title for awhile. She will run around, tug the toy, but after 3-5 minutes she will start to jump on me or try and bite me instead of the toy. I try and redirect her to it but it only works 50% of the time, and if she does grab the toy she often won’t tug anymore, she only wants to bite me and roughhouse. I don’t dislike it all the time, but I don’t like when she just starts throwing her body at me and biting my arms when I didn’t initiate play like that. I feel like I barely play with her now but it’s because she just bites me so often, it’s not very fun anymore. We get some tugs and she just gives up, jumps at me, I say no, and she doesn’t care about her toys anymore but looks super sad. Any advice or ideas are greatly appreciated.

For the last few weeks I was waking up feeling unrested and I was gettin annoyed at my shihtzu Maltese mix for waking me up at like 2 am licking my face.

I was wondering why doesn’t she just sleep instead of being playful so late!!

Long story short, I was stopping breathing in my sleep and she somehow noticed each time and was rushing to try and wake me up so I can breathe again!

I put the camera to test it out lol and it turns out as soon as my snoring stopped and I went silent (stopped breathing) she got up from her bed and profusely began licking me.

So this his been on my mind for a while how come wolves don’t have as different of a look as certain dogs like why aren’t there wolves that have curly hair like poodles or straight hair like shitzu I noticed wolves hair types and even faces all look pretty much the same why can’t they have not hair styles like a poodle?

Man, sleep deprivation really messes with your head. I was thinking I was failing my puppy and had to rehome her. Well, I am happy to report our little lady slept from 9:45pm to 4am!! I tried the advice of playing fetch into the kennel during the day. I was already feeding her in it but I think that playing did the trick. I did the usual night routine: dinner, potty, play time, wind down time, last potty and into the crate with her heartbeat pal, kong ball and favorite blanket. What I did different: I left her crate in the living room where I keep it during the day instead of moving it next to the bed. I also warmed her bedding in the dryer. She happily pranced in, I gave her a treat and she laid down. She did whine for about 10 minutes..I painfully ignored them like suggested but then she was out!! I got to sleep too!! I was afraid that if I didn't have her in arms reach to sooth her, she wouldn't feel safe. When I let her out, there were no accidents and she ran to the front door to be let out. I can't believe the difference a couple changes made. Thank you so much to all the kind comments, reassuring words and advice. I really was tying myself in knots. I don't have people in my life with puppy experience, you've been lifesavers 🩷🐾
