Will she grow out of it?

Hi

So I have a 4 month old female dachshund puppy , which I totally loved and pamper.

I don’t like crate training at all , nothing personal just don’t want the dog in a crate.

So I been letting her on my bed since she is a puppy and we don’t really have an accidents of pee when it comes to night time. But lately she is peeing in the bed once we come inside the house after the park or we playing and she goes to bed and pees there. Sounds like she is making it on purpose or out of excitement.

When we go out to the park or outside she usually pee and she usually uses her pee pads.

I don’t know I need help … not desperate but I want good for her and myself and to have her at the bed.

Can someone tell me what to do and what I’m doing wrong and what’s happening here?

Just got my 15 week old pup last weekend at the adoption shelter. I was also the one posting about crying on the couch yesterday because I was overwhelmed 🙂 today is much better!

Just wondering if there’s any tips or tricks with this breed or if anyone has one in general!!

He had an accident last night, and when I walked into the living room this morning and he saw me see it, he started shaking…

Broke my heart!

I gave him a big hug and belly rubs and cleaned the mess.

Fortunately it's super easy on hard floors!

But even if it had been carpet I had to scrub, I wouldn't have been mad at him.

This probably happened as a result of me trying to change him over to a senior food. It doesn't totally agree with him.

A couple of other times, he has growled at another dog on a walk and I say hey!

His response to that is to sit down and shake… Looking up at me like please don't be mad, PLEASE.

So sad.

Taking care of grandma's chihuahua for a week or so. He's been here for a few hours. He has to stay in his own room because he will eat anything and everything he finds on the floor and I fear he will find a way to kill himself or eat out of the litter box if I let him loose. Plus he barks at my cat even though he's met her plenty of times, so he has to be contained. The millisecond I leave the room he goes ballistic, whining and scratching at the door conatantly acting like he's locked in a burning building. When i brought him here I gave him more than enough time outside, he does nothing, so I bring him in and the second I take my eyes off him he shits on the floor 3 times. Even when I'm sitting with him, if I am not actively playing with him he whines and jumps on me. Instead of eating his food normally he insists on hiding it in his blankets, than finding it and eating it (so he stinks). He is not a puppy he is fully grown. I do love this dog and he will not be mistreated here but holy hell I can't get a second of peace. Any advice appreciated. He is used to being in a crate all day and I do have the option of crating him, but I want him to be comfortable and have a chance to free roam the room if possible. (Edited because I posted too early)

Another note: he doesn't seem distressed until I leave the room, as far as I can tell he just wants me to keep playing with him and let him chase the cat and run around the house. He's bouncing around in circles tail wagging when I'm in there unless I ignore him

We adopted our puppy at 9 weeks old and she now 16 weeks old, needless to say it's been a bit of a rollercoaster. Also sorry for the long vent/rant.

We lost our dog in April this year, she was almost 12. I got our sweet Bailey before my boyfriend and I met, she was my girl, my best friend and you knew it. When she passed we were crushed and I decided after 5 months I needed another dog in my life and my boyfriend supposed my decision.

We found our little girl end of September, fell in love with her adoption profile, things happened fast and within a week we got to pick her up. She was sweet and cuddly, just a little dream. But that didn't live long lol, within a few weeks she started teething hard and got comfortable at home so in other words a little firecracker. Don't get me wrong, we absolutely love her.

This is where things are a bit of an issue, I work full time and my boyfriend stays with her all day. At first when we got the puppy blues, my boyfriend was questioning our choice, I was tired from waking up all hours to let her out. I will also add that our old dog passed from health issues so I was a bit of a crazy parent and worrying all the time with the new pup. We were fighting and life felt crazy.

But once we found our groove, that's where the jealous comes in because I feeling our puppy is going to be my boyfriends dog. He is an alpha and she listens better to him but he's also taking more of the training on and everything.

I know it's seems crazy but I cannot help but feel jealous. Our puppy still gets sad when I leave and loves when I come home, she is glued to me and come to bed when with me. I know she loves me and I feel like I'm crazy lol but I cannot help to feel jealous.

I would love to spend all day, everyday with her but I cannot because I'm our sole income right now. I do love my weekends with her and I know I'm a more passive person, so it's harder for me to get our pup to listen to me. Trying to fix that.

I feel foolish because our pup is loved and will have the best life with two caring parents. But I still feel I cannot help but feel so jealous.

My dog just turned 5 months. I know I need to give him grace. But you all know that the first few months with a puppy feels like a lifetime. I am SO sick of the constant biting. If he’s out of his kennel he is incessantly trying to gnaw on our arms, hands, limbs, or clothes. Redirection (giving him his toy etc) works some of the time but the need to chew is just driving me absolutely insane. His teeth look like they are all in. I could see molars breaking the gums a month ago but they’re in now. You can’t even reach for him to pet without him turning his face towards you looking for which body part he wants to attack next. IWhen does this end? I’m so over it. I have kids and it’s exhausting constantly getting onto him. He’s a male miniature American shepherd for reference.

First up, per the vet she’s healthy. She’s about eight pounds, so a little, and is 4.5 months old. I know she’s still growing. I am wondering, has anyone else dealt with a puppy who just refuses to pee?

I am really struggling with getting her to pee on a schedule. She absolutely refuses to pee unless three or more hours have gone by. I’ve tried leashing her for boredom outside, going in and playing then back out, walks, taking her out right after a nap…she just insists on her own timeframe. I have found zero tricks to induce peeing. Same with poo too. I can tell by her bum she has to go but until it’s become unavoidable she’ll refuse to go.

She runs to me for a treat after potty so it seems like she’s associated treat with potty, but she definitely isn’t trying to earn a treat. This lack of desire to go is making nighttime hard because she has to go semi close to bedtime, about 7:30, and no matter what she’s not going to go again at bedtime because it’s not long enough away. She even takes a huge drink about 7:30 every night and still no pee at 8:30-9:30 time frame. Of course morning is urgent and a lot!

Someone tell me I’m not nuts, that they’ve seen this before too?!

Like the title says. I have a 5 month old golden retriever, my fiancé and I work in office so he is home 8 hours of the day alone. When I come home we go on long walks, we play with him, etc. but he doesn’t let us sit without him coming over and biting constantly. I have tried every trick in the book: re-directing with a toy, time out for 15 seconds, I have pinned him down a few times, but he just keeps getting more aggressive and showing teeth. Any tips on how to stop this? tia!
