Dog doesn’t react well around other people?
I adopted my dog back in may of 2025. It’s just me and her most of the time in my apt. My partner comes over a couple of times a week and I just spent 3 days with him. Every time he comes over she still barks for a while and then goes to hide under the bed. When we’re at his place she is fine when he’s at work, for the most part will want to lay in the bed with me or walk around his room or lay in her own bed on the floor. When he comes home she goes straight to under the bed and hides. Why is she not getting used to familiar people? She acts like they are strangers. She doesn’t bite people or anything, she just barks a lot or hides. There are some times he pets her and talks to her and she’s chill about it but she is SHAKING the entire time when we’re not home or if other people are in the house. If it matters, she’s now 2 years old and I adopted her when she was 1.5 years. She’s completely different when it’s just me and her at home. She sleeps peacefully anywhere and loves to play and run around. Barely goes under the bed.

Few questions about potty and crate training
My puppy is a full-sized greyhound, 6 months old. I’ve had her since she was 2 months, and we’ve worked really consistently on potty training. She gets regular breaks every 4–5 hours(usually should be longer at her age but she cannot hold it), and I’ve tried very hard to keep a stable routine. But she still sometimes pees or poops in her crate, especially when I leave her home alone (always under 3 hours).
She’s been checked by the vet — no UTI, no medical issues.
Is there anything else I can do to improve her potty schedule? Will this likely improve as she gets closer to a year old? Or should I be focusing more on separation-anxiety training?
Additional info: I live in an apartment (no backyard) and I don’t use potty pads; She’s about 21” tall; crate is 25” tall; Daily Walks & Playtime: ~30 min morning, ~30 min noon, ~30 min before bedtime, 1+ hour in the park/sniffspot/dog park every afternoon; Water intake is normal; she eats ~3 cups of kibble per day
Any tips from people with sighthounds or puppies with similar issues would be really appreciated!

Teething pain – medication?
My poor 20 week old pup is struggling big time with teething. She’s whiny and obviously very uncomfortable, especially in the morning and evening.
We give her literally everything to soothe the pain, ice cubes, veggies, toys, frozen kongs and cloth- just to name a few. But she’s in pain anyway.
Last night she literally whined herself to sleep (she sleeps in my bed and loves it), and I wondered whether to give her some pain medication? Is it worth visiting the vet or will the vet just turn us down and tell us it goes over?
I’ve had dogs for 30+ years and can’t remember ever having a puppy who showed so much pain when teething.
She’s healthy otherwise, eats her food and is full of energy on walks and when we play / train. So I’m sure she’s not sick in any other way.

Off leash distance!
How far do you let your dog go when of leash? It’s something iv spent so long debating on what standards I should set for my dog. Obviously context matters, small paths you probably want them close, big fields for beaches further away is fine. Lmk how you do it!
