Advice for brushes for de—matting
Hello I have a poodle mix dog. He is half bichon/half mini golden doodle. I typically take him to get groomed every 2 months, but this time I waited too long. They will have to cut him short and charge a de-matting fee. I feel so bad. I love him when he is fluffy lol.
Any suggestions on a good brush for his breed/coat? I need to get in the habit of brushing him.
TIA ❤️

Decided to Adopt the Puppy
I’m happy to say we decided to adopt the little shepherd/cattle dog mix puppy! She will be coming home with us in the next couple days. She has a fantastic foster mom who has kept her on a strict schedule. She has a small hang up with potty training. She is fully potty trained to pee outside, but still only likes to poop on her potty pads. She’s 12 weeks now.
What do you think the best course of action is? Should we just not put any potty pads down when she comes home? Or would that add extra stress to an already stressful transition for her?

Introducing puppy to my dog of 2 years
Hi! My gf and I just adopted a 4 month old female Australian Cattle Dog. We already had a 2.5 year old corgi at home (got him when he was roughly the same age as the new puppy).
Our corgi has always been really friendly with other dogs/people. Even when I first moved in with my gf, her old roommate was still in the house and she had two bigger dogs (German Shepard, 4yo, Rottweiler, 9yo). Granted he moved into the other two dogs house, but they got along great.
Skip forward a few months, those dogs aren’t here anymore, they moved with the roommate and now we introduced the corgi to his new sister but he seems quite defensive around her. Doesn’t like it when she gets close, usually walks around her. Really locks in on her when she gets on the couch next to my gf. Definitely new/weird behavior I haven’t seen from him before.
It’s only been 2 days and I assume if I keep their interactions positive, rewarding treats and whatnot for good behavior it might be ok. But curious on others thoughts. Any ideas on this situation?

Megathread: Why Does My Dog Do That?
Does your dog turn his head when he hears an odd noise? Does your dog bury their food with your pants? This is the thread to ask why.
Please keep this thread to non-medical issues only.

Hello! Is tiny paw teacup yorkies legit? I’m looking to buy a yorkie from them but im worried because I can’t find much about them.
They are from Illinois and their yorkies are very cheap, For example their parti yorkies are only 750. But im worried because of how cheap they are they might be a scam!

Meals inside of crate?
Does anyone feed their dogs solely inside their crate? My Shiba pup is a very delicate eater (similar to a cat) and my lab is…a lab lol who eats like he’s never seen food. Therefore he’ll just push his way in and steal the puppy’s food.
I’ve started giving the pup his meals in the crate so he’s able to eat without worrying about his food being stolen on him and just wondering if this is okay or if anyone else does this

Megathread: Pet Insurance
Which pet insurance is best for you? Are there any that may cover your dog's current treatment? Did your dog get injured during the waiting period and want to know if you're covered?
Here's the place to ask.
Do know we cannot help you here with medical concerns, and lying or not disclosing things to the insurance company is illegal so we don't allow that either.
