Separation anxiety even though someone’s at home?
Our almost 6 month male Border Terrier is showing some stressed behaviour when he’s home with just my other half. He refuses to eat when I’m not there, including treats, and likes to just sit/lie at the door and wait for me to come back. He’s crate trained and will go into his crate for some of the time, but is reluctant to do anything my other half asks of him, including to go outside to potty. It’s like he becomes afraid of even basic things that he’s used to. It’s hard for me to understand as I don’t see most of this behaviour as it tends to happen when I’m out of the house. We’ve had him since 8 weeks old and he’s always had the same routines of me being out of the house some days, and my other half out on other days- he’s fine when he’s just with me though. Is this just his next fear period and he’s likely to grow out of it, or should we be concerned?

Arthritis help
I'm looking for things you guys have done to help your dogs with arthritis. I've already got him on medication, so what are some things like a heated dog bed, raised dog bowl, etc that have helped yours out?

Breeder recommendations
Hi everyone. I’m currently looking for a Giant Schnauzer. I have done research on the breed for over two years now and I’m finally ready. What breeders would you recommend and how much did you purchase your GS for? Before anyone says “price isn’t important” or anything along those lines I will say I know I won’t be spending $500 on a GS but I also don’t want to be blindsided with a 10k price tag I’d rather not make conversation and waste our time with a breeder that high. I’m looking to spend anywhere between 3k-6k for the right dog. Must be health tested! Embark, OFA, vet checked etc.

My 10 month old Shepard mix is waking up earlier and earlier…
Hello all!! I’m very new to dogs, like I’ve only owned cats my whole life! And we rescued a great large Shepard mix a couple of months ago.
She is currently 10 months old and we have been crate training her since we got her. She is great at night in it but lately she has been waking up at 6:30/6/ and today 5:30 am crying. When I get her and take her out she pees and poos right away outside.
So my question is: since she is a puppy is this just par for the course? I read to not get them when they cry in the crate but seeing as she immediately does her business outside I imagine she has to go? But I just don’t want to get in the habit of waking up at 5:30am everyday if I don’t have to.
Thank you all!!!

Crossing an EU border with a young puppy
Hello,
Has anyone here ever taken a young puppy across an EU border before the official waiting period for the rabies vaccine was completed? (12 weeks + 21 days required)
I’m trying to understand what the realistic risks and outcomes have been for people who did it (or who witnessed it).
I know what the regulations say, but I’m curious about actual experiences:
– Are there any checks at the border?
– Did anyone face fines or administrative issues later (vet visit, registration, travel)?
– Has anyone had their puppy stopped or questioned by authorities?
– Are the risks mostly “theoretical,” or do checks actually happen in practice?I’d really appreciate hearing from people who have gone through this, or from vets/people familiar with how strictly this is enforced.
Thanks!

Best winter boots for dogs (MN)
Just seeing if anyone has recs/links for boots that work for their dog in cold temps! I use these rubber ones that are a PITA to put on, but they stay on, which is important. TIA!
