  • How often should i take my 8 week old puppy out to the bathroom at night? I feel like every 2 hours is crazy?

Hello all. I am soon to be the owner of a male English Labrador puppy and i am currently organising a schedule for him.

I have him going to the toilet by default every 2 hours and before and after activities and meals. But at night is my biggest concern because i think both him and myself cannot afford to be woken every 2 hours until the end of time.

How many times should i take him out at night? Every three hours? Just when he starts wriggling?

I sleep with headphones on due to autism so i will not be able to hear him clearly, especially if im asleep.

    Any suggestions?

    Thank you 🙂

  • My dog does not eat on his own

My dog is a indian spitz and he's 2 years old, when we got him as a puppy he was too picky he would eat something one day and then not eat it again, so we started to feed him by hand but now i think this habit is not okay also we keep him accessible to food 24/7 so that he doesnt get hungry, is this the reason that he doesnt eat on his own? we also give him too much attention we are like always there for him 24/7 lol do you think thhat might be affecting his behaviour?

  • Which puppy do we get?

We are buying our first puppy, a labrador. We have young kids, aged from 4 – 11. I've found these two options, both are affordable but price is a factor for sure. What should we pick and why? We're not looking for anything super fancy, just a good temperament family pet. Is the fancier puppy very necessary?

Black Ready early November $2000 Only girl available, 1 girl taken 8 puppy litter. 1.5 hour drive pick up Chilled breeder, limited questions. Last labrador litter, breeds more goldens. Parents are casual family pets, no showing but great dogs. No papers Good dna, hip and elbow tests

Yellow Ready late November $3000 + flights, $300-400 est 10 girls in 12 pup litter Flights organised from interstate Thorough breeder, lots of information and questions. Parents are good family pets and also show competition dogs Pedigree limited papers Good dna, hip and elbow tests 6 weeks introductory insurance Breeder will match us to the puppy Facebook group to follow on updates with puppies as they grow

  • my dog pees inside but not outside whatsoever

hello all. i need help so bad. i have had my new puppy for about 3 days now, she's about 5 months old id say. she was given to me by someone i know, along with a kitten. i have no idea on her previous house training, im sure she was potty trained to an extent, (i'm hoping), but she seems really good with her leash habits, never barks except when outside, etc. and she's learned so far in these 3 days which rooms she can't go in. i feel i'm doing a good job of training her on other things, but i am at such a loss when it comes to her potty habits. she pees and poops inside, which i would totally be fine with in the meantime of training her, it's part of the learning process, obviously i am punishing her for the inside mistakes. the problem is she doesn't potty outside. she has not gone to the bathroom outside once in the many times i've walked her. i don't know how to reward her for peeing outside if she just doesn't do it. she's been an easy to train dog so far, and i think she would pick up, but she holds it when she's outside and lets a huge puddle and dookies out inside. it's driving me crazy. i'm in college, so i don't have long days, and im trying my best. she gets at LEAST an hour of outside time, probably closer to 2 hours. i walk her right when i wake up and after i clean her pee, right when i get home from school/whatever im doing, and before bed, each for at least 20 minutes, usually 30-40. we have an okay routine for now. then we'll come back inside after i give up on her peeing, plus i have other stuff to do like homework, cooking, blah blah. and then there's a huge puddle again in the living room.

i'm going insane, is there a reason she's holding her pee? could she have a medical issue? she very badly injured her hip with the previous owners and was never taken to the vet for it, she recovered on her own, could that be a possible issue? is she doing this because she hates me and wants me to go to the asylum?

i ask here first because i don't want to go to the vet just for them to say that she's just a puppy, i don't have enough money to be told that in a non emergency. if it is possibly an issue i will absolutely go, but i think i just need to be told by other people.

  • fleas/ticks from my puppy?

i’ve had my 11 week old puppy for 4 days now and today i found a little tick (i think) on my desk while i was working, not on her. i freaked out and reached out to the breeder and he advised to use flea/tick shampoo and an ear cleaner. i’ve never had any bugs in my apartment prior so i know it definitely came from her. ive shampoo’d her twice now but i couldn’t find anything on her. this is all new to me and im due to go to the vet this weekend for her vaccination so was thinking to get it checked out then but has anyone experienced the same? do i need to bring in a pest control for my apartment?!

  • Anyone got a dogger dog stroller they’d be willing to part with?

As title says, my poor 11 year old dachshund has IVDD and this stroller has been on my list after they discontinued it unfortunately. I have an HPZ run right now but the front wheel starts wobbling so hard every time I try and run with it. Any help would be appreciated thanks so much everyone!

  • How to get dog bile smell out of Kong crate insert?

My dog pukes bile about 3-4x a year in the morning (empty stomach usually) and the bile always stinks up his crate insert (Kong bed from petsmart). The only solution I’ve found to getting the smell out is buying a new bed. Any ways to get this smell out? Currently washing after spraying with enzyme spot cleaner

  • Puppy bite

My little puppy bit through my sock and as I moved my foot away her tooth sliced my foot pretty bad. I cleaned it, poured rubbing alcohol on it and put a bandage on it. She has only had her 1st shots (her second shots are on the 30th) so I’m kinda worried about if it can get infected?
