  • My dogs rolled in something so sickening I can’t put into words

The fur around their necks are wet, brown/yellow, and smells worse than any dog shit I’ve ever smelled. I thought maybe a skunk, but there is no sulfur smell, just straight hot, poisonous dragon shit. What could this be?

I live in South Alabama and my yard is surrounded by a privacy fence if that helps narrow it down.

  • Dog won’t stop whining

My dog has done this for years. He whines incessantly. We have taken him to the doctor, put him on anxiety medication that he has refused to take, and tried to train him to stop whining/help with whining. He isn't in any pain, he has all his needs met, he has companionship and enrichment. Yet, he still whines incessantly. He has gotten to the point where he bites and snaps at things. My family doesn't know what to do.

  • Picky Dog Training Dilemma

My puppy (miniature poodle) who is coming up on 10 months is so frustratingly picky. We have tried wet, dry, and everything in between and after a few days she turns her nose up at whatever she’s being served. I am wanting to try the method where you give them nothing else but their food at a set time and hold out until they give in. Currently, we are wanting her to eat dry kibble with broth. The thing is, I also am in the process of beginning to train her out of leash reactivity and walk anxiety. To do this I have been using Pupfords to reward her. Is there a way I can tackle both problems in the least stressful way possible? Or should I try one first then the other?

  • is another dog feasible?

Hi! I have had dogs all my life, but only one at a time. Our current dog is 7.5 years old, absolute sweetheart, but doesn’t seem to like other dogs. I mean on walks she is definitely interested! But I do remember her meeting a puppy once and not being a fan. She wasn’t aggressive or anything, just seemed anxious and kept away when the puppy was too playful.

My aunt has a 4 year old very well trained german shepherd. She has to move out of the country this year, long story, but it sounds like she can’t bring her dog. I’ve met her dog before, also very sweet and well trained. Plus, her dog has lived with other dogs before. We both just don’t want her dog wait at a shelter forever or go to a bad home. Is this feasible for me to try? Does anyone have any advice? I really just want the best for both dogs. Thank you

  • My dog won’t walk near the assisted living facility

I live a few blocks away from an assisted living facility with all levels of care from independent living to full blown personal care living (like a nursing home). They have a nice property with sidewalks and walking trails but anytime I try to walk my dog there he puts on the brakes and refuses to walk. What do you think this is all about? It isn’t really a problem, more just a curiosity of mine.

  • Cryptorchid puppy post neuter advice

Hello all! My 8 month old pembroke corgi was just neutered yesterday, but only one of his testicles had descended around the 7 month mark making him cryptorchid, and the procedure was much more invasive, like a spay. Although he’s doing OKAY, I feel like the pain meds we were given are wearing off hours before the next dose is due, and it’s causing him noticeable discomfort. Usually about 4-5 hours prior to when his next dose is supposed to be. We are still following the every 12 hours but I was wondering if it’d be worth it to call the vet tomorrow and see if he needs something stronger? Or is that silly?

  • De-Shedding Treatments

Hi all! My dog is a white German Shepard, and she’s on of those dogs that sheds so much you wonder how she still has any hair. It’s is impossible the amount of hair that comes off this girl!

Curious if anyone has had any experience with de-shedding treatments and/or professional brushing. Is it effective? What can I expect with a dog that shed A LOT. Am thinking about getting one done every 2-3 months and supplementing with brushing in between.

    Thanks in advance!

  • How do I get my potty trained dog to stop peeing in the house?

My 7ish year old neutered male Shihpoo is potty trained and knows he shouldn’t pee in the house. However, when someone comes to the door, or he sees a dog walking by, he loses it and runs to the wall in our entryway and lifts his leg and pees. We have tried crating him, but he literally sounds like he’s about to have a heart attack.

I have no idea what to do to get him to stop.

We have tried dog diapers, but he can take them off.
