Hello all. My husband and I recently adopted a 4-month-old puppy. She is very tiny, right around 1 kg.
We spend a lot of time outside, and have other dogs, all of whom have access to our large kitchen, and our very large yard all day.
We can be outside for hours and our 12 week old will save pee like a tiny pee camel and pee all over the kitchen when we come inside.
Enzymatic cleaners literally just became easily available in Kenya, where we live, and we will be hunting some down in the next couple of days. Meanwhile we've been using bleach to clean her pee spots, but obviously that's not working.
Any suggestions are appreciated. Even taking her to her regular pee spot and standing with no distractions for long periods of time has not gotten her to go potty. The few times she has gone pee outside, we praise her and give her high value treats immediately after the pee. Same with poop.
She has no problem going poop outside.

Hi fellow dog-parents! I’m noticing that my pup (13w) seems stressed, overstimulated and has an even harder time than usual finding rest (he’s an active breed and that is something we’re working on in general). I suspect part of the reason is due to the changes in routine when BF’s kid is home (he’s at our place for 8 days at a time, then at his mom’s at 6). This is not the only factor that’s been difficult to manage lately (in regards to our in-home routines), but an example of when our pup seem to have an even harder time than usual. My step son is well behaved around animals (this is important to both me and his dad) so it’s not because of maltreatment and lack of boundaries between the two. However there’s a big difference between how our day to day life works when he’s home vs. when he’s not, fx. mornings with stepson home start way earlier, etc.
Do any you have experience with raising a puppy in a blended family? How did your dog react to the changes when kids where home vs. weren’t and what did you do/are you doing to make it easier for the pup?

I take my dog outside to potty on average 4x a day.
This morning at the break of dawn he wakes me up with his whinning and I promptly get out of bed and into the cold weather thinking that poor doggo needs to potty.
He marks everywhere with his urine and runs back to his pen.
10 minutes later he poops and pees in his pen.
This happens everyday; potty breaks are just for marking and then he'll potty in his pen.
What's wrong with him ?

I’m looking for some advice regarding toilet training. I have a 4.5 month old bedlington terrier who loves toileting everywhere except outside. We live in a top floor flat so it’s not the easiest getting down on time. We have usual breaks when she should pee and sometimes she does it. Most of the time she just pees on the carpet, not even getting the puppy pads. We are doing the usual enzyme spray, high value rewards and praise when going outside but it’s taking a while. Any support or advice would be great.

ill admit it , i havent been a good owner when it came to cutting my dogs nails so theyre long, but i want to change that now. Hes a jack russell terrier and has white claws so I dont have any trouble seeing the quick but I just cant for the life of me get him to stay still while i try (and fail to cut his nails) . Ive tried getting him comfortable with clippers which actually did work. Everytime i pick up the clippers he gets sort of excited/interested in them and isnt scared of it.
however, When i grab hold of his paw, he will sometimes do light tugs away or gnaw at my hand lightly until i let go. i can struggle and get the tips for the front four claws albeit extremely slowly , but for the dew claw( i think thats what its called) , he wont hold still long enough for me to chip away at it. This is probably a training diff on my end, so i was wondering how can i get my dog to relax and chillout when it comes to nail cutting like i be seeing on some dog spa days on tiktok?
