  • Can dogs recognize their humans in mirrors?

My girl is a 14 year old chihuahua mix. I have a big closet mirror right in front of the bed. I noticed that when Im on the bed and she is on the floor shell look at the mirror almost like shes looking at me in the mirror? And today I was petting her on the ground in front of the mirror and she was looking at the mirror.

  • Fulfillment

Hi, I’m really struggling with ways to mentally tire out my poodle mix. Poodles were originally bred for fetching water fowl, so from my knowledge doing fulfillment close to that is going to be best? Doing actual water retrieves isn’t an option as we don’t live near any water. Iv tried flirt poles, throwing a ball out and sending him after it, or throwing it into long grass and letting him find it. But honestly I never seam to get any results. Once we are home he’s still restless, even when I try to enforce naps. Honestly it’s just a bit frustrating watching people take out breeds like working cocker spaniels for 30 minutes of fulfillment and then the dogs chill for the rest of the day. Like where am I going wrong? 😑

  • Aggressive beagle play?

    Hello guys ,

I need advice about my beagle puppies behavior.(boy and girl)

They just turned six months old and from the two months we've had them until now, there have been a few phases where they would suddenly start jumping on my legs and pulling me by whatever they can very aggressive. Today when it happened, I managed to escape by just giving them some biscuits, but not before the boy scratched my leg with his teeth .

What can I do? The phases are not very frequent but I think they are becoming more aggressive. Before I could get away without giving them snacks but the last two times I had to. How can I change their behavior considering that there are two of them?

  • Does anyone else’s dog actually respond to "Puppy Lo-Fi"?

I’ve been obsessed with finding things to help my dog’s separation anxiety, and I started putting together these 10-hour loops of ambient "dog music" called PAWS FM.

I noticed the AVD (average view duration) on these is nearly an hour, which is wild. It’s basically low-frequency brown noise mixed with some calming visual loops. For those of you with "velcro dogs" or pups that lose it when you leave the house—have you tried specific audio frequencies?

Curious if this actually works for others or if my dog is just a weirdo who likes Lo-Fi.

  • I just adopted my dog a few days ago and her behavior completely changed

I went to the humane society and seen this German Shepard mix I wanted she ran straight to me was playing with me but still kinda anxious which I knew she’s 3 years old and I got her to the car she took Amin but jumped in on her own was laying on me the whole car ride besides when she wanted to look out the window she got to the house I let her be free to let her get used to the house and now all she does is just lay down and eat occasionally I try to take her outside but she won’t even really let me get her out her bed she doesn’t bite or anything but she seems super scared she’s on anxiety medicine and was spayed a day before I got her.

  • -25 degree temps what are you doing for your dogs?

My dog obviously can't avoid going out to potty. But this poor girl can barely make it to the back yard without limping. Does anyone have any dog shoes, tips or tricks they recommend? I'm doing my own research but just looking to see if someone has thought of something I hadn't. Thank you!

  • Does anyone else’s dog *like* wearing clothes?

I've never seen a dog get excited to get dressed until I got my Honey. And nobody can say she's just fawning because I ask her "do you want to wear your pajamas?" And she will get excited and do her little hops the same as if I asked her "are you hungry?" She gets impatient if I can't get her dressed fast enough and she immediately gets an energy boost (read: pet-me-zoomies) once they're on. If i try to take them off she gets mouthy, both vocally and physically (always gentle teeth). Does anyone else have a special dog like this?

  • I need help finding the correct type of diapers for my female dog.

context: she doesn't have any problem holding in her poop. She just has an accident in the house mostly during the night, yes I do let her out very often and I gove her pretty of time to relieve herself.

I need a diaper for her that she can use to keep only the urine in and able to poop naturally still.

I don't want her to be peeing and popping in the diaper.

    Any suggestions?

    (she's 14 years old)
