Our 9 week old rescue that is a Jack Russell/corgi plus more mix has red tear stains around his eyes but none of his litter mates have it. Since they were found at 2 days old the photos of him when he was younger didn't have them and it seems like it's getting worse over time. Any advice would be great!

My puppy is 5 months and he is still a 24/7 job to take care of and train, manage bad behaviors, take out to pee every couple hours, etc.
When did you realize "huh, I got to hang out with friends without worrying the whole time about my dog" or "I got to watch a whole movie without a bitey/zoomy interruption?"
I think my pup is nearing the end of teething, almost all of his teeth have fallen out. Hoping and praying for less nipping and barking soon!!
Also what training tips made the biggest difference for getting your pup to chill out?

this title probably sounds ridiculous because she’s so young LOL but we started training at 10 weeks old, a few days after we got her. she started off great, really no issues with focus.
cut to last sunday, my god she barely listened during class. i was like ok well training was light the week prior so, that’s my fault, i have to deal with the consequences. but this week we’ve trained per usual and it was going ok again until the last two days. she just will not stay focused. i aim to train her twice a day since that’s when she has meals, but would it maybe be better to try and train closer to 4 times a day so it’s a mix of kibble twice and treats twice?
also i would like to preface that i don’t expect a baby puppy to have perfect focus during training, its just that she *did* have really good focus and now it’s hit or miss. anyway, any suggestions would be great !!

So I just adopted a 6 week old puppy who was left abandoned after her mom was ran over (stray). I'm getting her used to being in a crate/play pen for a few minutes at a time and taking her out for potty breaks every 1-2 hours.
I only work on the weekends and do online classes on the weekdays and my boyfriend is off on the weekends so our schedules work fine. The only thing is on the weekdays I doordash for extra income and sometimes I'm gone for like 4+ hours at a time.
I bought a sling and a car seat to bring her with me on the dashes as well as outings where I'll be gone longer than an hour or two. My only concern is I dont want her to become so used to mommy time that she doesn't train well for her crate. I know shes just a baby right now and is basically a walking whining potato who stinks but I like to plan for the future.
Please let me know how I should go about this with her, I haven't had a puppy in years and have only delt with adolescent and adult animals so this puppy thing is super new to me.

My wife and I have a 21 week old German Wirehaired Pointer, in the daytime she is mostly well behaved, toilet trained, good recall – a great dog.
However we are having more and more problems at night, and it feels like we are spiralling.
She has been crate trained since we got her at 10 weeks. She hasn’t gone through the night as of yet, but previously we would get her up somewhere between 2 and 3am and take her out to the toilet. She would then sleep till 6am.
The last 2 weeks or so she has just decided she will not settle at night. She will willingly go in her crate around 11pm when we go to bed, settle for 5 minutes or so and then bark and whine for between 45 minutes and an hour before setting. We have tried comforting her by my wife sitting down with her just outside the crate, but as soon as she’ll go to bed, queue barking.
We have 3 young children, and if one of them gets up in the night, she will hear and we will get another half hour of barking.
We have tried white noise, extended crate training in the day, long walks later in the day, treating, but she just seems to be getting worse.
We thought maybe she felt too confined, so we put a stair gate across the doorway of the utility room her crate is in and left the crate door open, but this made things worse as she would just jump against the gate until it broke.
During the day we have tried feeding her in the utility with the gate shut, give her a licking mat with the gate shut, and she will drop everything to sit and cry at the gate instead.
If we go out, she will whine and bark constantly on and off till we are back.
Is this the beginning of separation anxiety? Is there anything we can do to try and settle her?
