  • Doodle puppy – energy

I have an almost 6 month old doodle – he’s such a good boy. He gets tired after a 30 min walk and will spend the rest of the day resting. When I settle, he’ll settle. He’ll get the zoomies or energy sometime towards the end of the day, but for the most part, he’s a good boy. Is this normal? Is he just a low energy doodle? He eats fine, drinks water, goes on walks and explores when I take him.

  • Life stuff and owning a puppy

Question. How do you potty train a puppy if both you and your partner work? I am currently looking for a job closer to home but even then it will be 8 hours before I am home with said puppy. How did you guys manage?

  • best car with kids and dogs?

hello! currently i have a 2021 kia sportage and i LOVE the car, however it is very small for what i need🥲 im probably a year or two out from getting a new car but currently i have a 5yo, 9 month old, a golden retriever, and a 40lbs mutt. i want it to be big enough for my younger child’s car seat, my 5yo booster, and two large size crash tested crates. we are moving to arizona in april so any bonuses for a car that will hold up there as well. thank you!!

  • 3yo dog can’t hold bladder

My 3yo male neutered cavapoo is unable to hold his bladder longer than 3-4 hours. He used to be able to hold it overnight and longer when he was younger. The vet said he’s in perfect health (no uti, no diabetes, etc), and to try cutting back on the amount of water he’s been drinking. That hasn’t helped.

I try taking away his water bowl a few hours before bedtime and make sure he goes out right before bed at about 10pm, but inevitably has to go out at least twice during the night.

    Anyone else dealt with this?

  • A reunited dog, and a microchip reminder.

I found an adorable dog on the side of the road today. I loaded him up in my car and took him to the 24/7 emergency vet (the only place open) to have him scanned for a microchip. He had one! The lovely lady at the vet called the microchip company and got the owners’ information. The owners had their info up-to-date and she was able to reach them. The sweet boy is safe and sound back at home now. I’m just so happy he made it back home so quickly.

Now I just wanted to drop a little reminder to microchip your pets. And remember, getting them chipped is just the first step. You have to register their microchip number with a registry, and you have to keep your information up to date.

I would recommend choosing a registry from the AAHA Registry Lookup list:

    https://www.aaha.org/for-veterinary-professionals/microchip-registry-lookup-tool-aaha-find-your-pets-microchip-registry/

Also, I like to have my pets scanned at their yearly checkup just to make sure the chip hasn’t migrated, and that everything is in good working order.

Be safe, everyone, and it was nice to meet you today, Flynn!

  • Pug and Chihuahua

Hey! So I have a new male pug and I've had my female Chihuahua for about a year. He runs up to her and sniffs a lot and sometimes puts his paws on her back and she always yelps whenever he does any of this. (She somehow feels fine crawling over him and all of my other dogs) Is this a sexual thing that he's doing? They're both fixed and the Chihuahua was used for breeding before I got her. My pug is the sweetest in the world but I don't want him to be doing something that's scaring her or making her uncomfortable

  • Treats that last more than 5 minutes

So Saturdays we usually give our dog a bully stick. It used to take her a good hour to go through. Now it takes her 6 minutes. We do peanut butter in a kong. That's done in maybe 10 minutes. We have those kong wobble toys you put treats in and she'll have it empty within 2 minutes.

We just need something to keep her busy for 30 minutes to an hour and nothing seems to last long anymore.

She's a 3 year old lab if that matters. 65lbs
