Debating between adopting one dog or a bonded pair need advice!
Hey folks,
So I’ve been seriously thinking about adopting soon, but I’m kinda stuck on whether to get one dog or go for a bonded pair. I live alone and work full-time, so part of me worries that one dog might get lonely during the day.
But I’ve never had two dogs before, and I’m not sure what that really means in terms of time, cost, or just day-to-day life.
If anyone’s been in a similar situation, I’d love to hear how it went for you. Did having two dogs make things easier or just double the chaos?
Really appreciate any stories or advice before I make the call. Thanks a bunch!

Is there a way to just go and pet dogs at a shelter?
I havent had a dog for a while simply because i dont have the space nor the money or stuff to have a dog but I love them. I havent got to just pet and be with one for a while and i was wondering if I could go the animal shelter and just play with them or atleast sit them. I want to moreso sit with the older dogs because they usually dont get any attention but im ngl im not interested in doing any work or anything. Can i volunteer to literally just go and sit with the dogs?

husky acting funny after losing our other dog
(i wasn’t sure what to tag this as, so forgive me if the one i chose was incorrect) one of our dogs unexpectedly passed away six days ago, and up until today, my husky had been acting fine. but, as i’ve gotten home today, he hasn’t met me at the door (which he has always done) and he’ll just stay laying on the couch (which he never does). we lost our other dog to health complications, so i’m probably just being paranoid with husky’s behavior. he’s been eating and drinking and acting otherwise pretty normal, but im just so terrified something is wrong. could it be that he is grieving? they were pretty close and always played together, but he’d been acting fine for abt five days after her death, so i’m confused as to why this would be happening now. any advice is greatly appreciated <3

Puppy parent stress – I can’t be alone, right?
For some context, I have a well-behaved and playful 1-year old dog who being one, is still understandably learning a lot; there are really hard days and it's definitely taken a toll on my mental health. Getting her to this point in her training, has taken a lot of love, dedication, consistency, and patience, and it wouldn't have been achieved as quickly if I didn't work from home.
Both her and I have come to know many neighbours quite well because of her demeanour and if the conversations lead a certain way, I'm pretty transparent when it comes to the real-life struggles of raising a puppy. Almost all of my neighbours with dogs don't speak about any struggles at all. They all have smaller, quiet dogs that aren't very playful. My dog is very friendly, intelligent, and confident, so that comes with its challenges. It makes me wonder if I'm just not dealing with the stress very well, which I in turn, feel bad about. For context, I also have chronic anxiety and depression, and put a lot of pressure on myself to give my dog the happiest and healthiest life I can. Thanks in advance for reading.
