I have a 20 week old mini dachshund named Marvin and wanted to share the schedule I’ve been using to save my sanity, potty train, crate train, and get my work done as a full-time remote worker. I wish I had this schedule from the jump when we got him at 9 weeks, and maybe it can be helpful to someone else too. I have since decreased the number of potty breaks as Marvin’s bladder control has improved, but for awhile there it really was every 10-15 minutes that I was taking him out or else he would pee inside:
5:45 am: potty break, breakfast in crate, potty break, 10-15 minutes of play, crate for nap.
6 am-8 am: back to sleep before work
8 am: potty break, 1 hour of play with potty breaks every 10-15 minutes. Last potty break should be followed by a few minutes of play before crating for next nap.
8 am-10 am: work
10 am: potty break, 1 hour of play with potty breaks every 10-15 minutes. Last potty break should be followed by a few minutes of play before crating for next nap.
11 am-1 pm: work
1 pm: potty break, lunch in crate, potty break, 1 hour of play with potty breaks every 10-15 minutes. Last potty break should be followed by a few minutes of play before crating for next nap.
2 pm-4 pm: work
4 pm: potty break, 1 hour of play with potty breaks every 10-15 minutes. Last potty break should be followed by a few minutes of play before crating for next nap.
5 pm-6 pm: work
6 pm: potty break, dinner in crate, potty break, 1 hour of play with potty breaks every 10-15 minutes. Last potty break should be followed by a few minutes of play before crating for human dinner.
7 pm: human dinner and chill
7:30 pm-8 pm: potty break, 1-2 hours of play with potty breaks every 10-15 minutes. Last potty break should be followed by a few minutes of play before crating for bed.
9:30 pm-10 pm: bed
Middle of the night: potty break only if puppy signals he needs one
