My husband and I just got married (we’ve been together for 2 years) and are thinking about getting a Cocker Retriever. We’re first-time dog owners living in a condo, and also planning to have a baby in about 1–1.5 years.
We feel like we’re ready and have even connected with a breeder, but wanted some real-life advice before we decide.
Do you think it’s a good idea to get a puppy now, or better to wait? For those who had a dog before a baby—was it manageable or too overwhelming?
