My dog (9 months old) was just diagnosed with Myastenia Gravis & Megaesophagus. So far, he is doing really well in recovering with medication, but I feel like I am losing progress in his training because this has taken away several of the tools he responded best to. He has to be on a harness now so he's learning to respond to a new form a leash pressure, and I can't give him treats during normal walks or training sessions
So I know my tool set is now limited now to only praise, physical affection and toys, but can anyone help to give advice or point me towards resources that emphasize this new treat-less lifestyle I have to adopt?
