We just moved into a new house where our main living floors are up on the second and third floors. Our houndy boy (beagle-treeing walker mix) who has had no issue with any kinds of stairs before (even in new environment and once a spiral wrought iron) is terrified of going up and down the new stairs.
The only thing I can think of is he can’t see / depth perception is off. this new set is dark in color and has a carpet runner with one of those vine like designs on it all the way down.
Anyone ever encounter this? He’s the least food motivated dog I’ve ever met and definitely has the stubborn hound gene. I can totally carry him but don’t want that to become the norm.
