Hi,
My service dog passed away so another lab is being trained for me right now. I am scheduled to receive the trained lab this summer sometime.
My husband and I also have a 3 year old pet dog. Just a pet. This is currently our only dog.
My husband has significant anxiety and panic attacks so it was determined it would be good for him to also have a service dog. His lab is just beginning to be trained for service and he won't get it for 1.5 years.
My husband's colleagues keep telling him not to get 3 dogs as they are too much to handle. Are 3 dogs too much to handle? I was thinking not because two are service dogs. We live in a 2 story home with a back yard.
My main concern was that the pet dog might feel left out. I just didn't think 2 service dogs would be awful. The pet dog is ok… (my husband wanted her). She's in obedience class.
Thanks.
