Am I a good enough puppy mom?

My puppy is a 15 lb. 7-month old chihuahua/poodle/dachshund mix. We got him when he was around 10 weeks old, after we unexpectedly lost my beloved soul cat to a rare and aggressive form of cancer. He's a great pup, and I haven't really had "puppy blues," exactly but I've been wracked with anxiety since we brought him home. I'm constantly worrying I'm not being a good enough mom. I'm worried that he might get sick or hurt. I obsess over every possible bad thing that could happen to him. (For example my current fixation is that my partner broke a glass soap dispenser and- despite sweeping, vacuuming, and mopping- I've found a couple of TINY glass pieces on the floor, one of which my dog found and spit out. Now I'm terrified- what if he somehow swallowed a very tiny piece I somehow didn't see and he didn't spit out and it's going to kill him. I can't stop googling.)

I'm working on getting my anxiety sorted, but in the meantime, I was hoping I could get some reassurance on this feed by explaining how I'm taking care of my puppy so far and getting some feedback. I'm open to (kind) critique, but would really love some affirmation that I am doing enough to make him happy and healthy. So here goes:

  • His routine: He sleeps from 12am-8:30am in his crate (he is crate trained and very comfortable, but we plan to allow him to sleep in bed with us once he is older and fully trained on his ramp.) He naps again in his crate from 1pm-5pm and takes a final nap from 8:00pm-9:30pm. He's never crated for more than 4 hours, and if he is not crated at least one of us-myself or my partner- is home and actively supervising him. He's never out of our field of vision for more than one minute.
  • Diet/Exercise: We feed Purina Pro Plan small breed puppy 3 times/day in the amount recommended by his vet. We add fish oil and pumpkin to his dinner. For training treats, he gets a mix of freeze-dried liver, Pet Botanicals puppy training rewards, and small pieces of carrot. He gets 40-60 minutes of sniffy walks per day, plus at least 15 minutes of active playtime (usually fetch.)
  • Training: He goes to training class (usually with both myself and my partner) 2-3 times per week at a facility that uses only positive reinforcement/is fear free. We also train throughout the day, including during walks and playtime. He is mostly potty trained; we take him out every 2 hours during the day and every hour after his last nap right now, working on increasing the time. He's never had a crate accident.
  • Enrichment: Besides daily training/play, we feed all his meals in a Kong wobbler and/or his snuffle mat. He does a treat puzzle once/day. We also vary what toys we use from time to time to keep them fresh and interesting. He used to go to puppy play time, but has aged out, so we're organizing playdates with other former play time classmates.
  • Health: He is established with a vet and has attended his 6-month puppy visit. He tested negative for parasites and heartworms. He has occasionally gotten red scaly patches on his tummy, which we send pics of to the vet, who says it is likely allergies. They always clear up with time and/or some ointment from the vet. He's fully up-to-date on his shots. Other than that, no health problems so far. He gets simparica trio every month for flea/tick/heratworm prevention. We got genetic testing done and he came back with only one risk factor- he has one copy of the gene that puts him at risk of IVDD. Because of that, we're waiting until he's one year old to neuter.
  • Grooming: He has a smooth coat and doesn't shed. We've gotten him his first professional puppy bath at a fear-free groomer so he could get exposed at a young age. The only sticking point is his front paws- he HATES having them touched, despite us practicing manipulating his paws and doing one nail trim a day when he was little. We're working up to being able to trim them again. I do gentle exposure training/paw manipulation with him every day to help get him comfortable.

Okay, I know it's a lot. But if you made it through all of that, first- thank you so much. Second, do you think I'm doing a good enough job?
