Looking for Car Crate Recommendations

The title says most of it, but the situation is a little complicated.

I adopted my GSP-Beagle cross from the shelter at 4 mo. and he has severe anxiety issues, especially regarding the car/leaving the house. He is under treatment from his vet for this, including a sedative and daily anti-anxiety. Even with these and us working on desenitization/positive reinforcement, he is still incredibly anxious in the car, and I’m wondering if a car crate could help. We’re also on a bit of a time crunch, since we may be moving from Texas to Pennsylvania in July for my job. I’ve looked around and most recommend the Impact crates, but with the possibility of the move, I can’t justify $700-800 (the cheapest second-hand I’ve seen has been $600).

He’s currently 10 mo. and almost 50 lbs. The crate needs to fit in the back seat of my car, which is a Buick Lacross. Unfortunately, taking him via plane is not an option since they won’t load live animals if the tarmac is above 90 degrees. Any recommendations—or advice on moving long distance with an anxious pet—are greatly appreciated!
