Would a second dog be a bad idea with a Shiba Inu?

So my Shiba, a soon to be year old, is a cutie, but not quite the lapdog I used to have. My first dog was a black lab blue healer, and she was a good lapdog that liked to cuddle. This one likes getting pet every now and then, but certainly isn’t a cuddler like my first dog. Part of me thinks maaaaybe I should get a second dog, but the Shiba is know to be a bit anti social. He’s good at the dog park and does play with other dogs, but I’m aware he’s got a high prey drive for his breed so obviously a smaller dog wouldn’t be a good idea.

I don’t need them to be besties, but would be nice if they got along. Still deciding on a breed but a lapdog type would be ideal. Anyone who owned a Shiba, got any words of advice for me? Guess I just miss having a dog want to sleep on my bed or set their head on me on the couch.
