We have a 4 month old corgi and she's a sweetheart most of the time, but she barks a lot when she wants attention. My husband was the main person training her since we brought her home (I have to go into the office for work), and she's gotten to a point where we can put her in her playpen and she won't bark incessantly when she's alone. My husband is now gone for a month working, and she barks whenever I'm in or out of the room.
Since I'm at work, our neighbor has been letting her out to pee every couple of hours during the day, and she never barks at her. My parents were also over one morning and she didn't bark at them, so I don't understand why she only barks at me. Whenever she barks for attention in her pen I ignore her, and when I do let her out for "free time" she never actively seeks me out to play or be around me. She was glued to my husband, so it seems that she just doesn't like me. She never growls or seems uncomfortable when I pet her, so I don't know if I'm doing something wrong. Is there anything I can do so that she wants my love just as much as anyone else's?
