So title is self explanatory, however, recently we've been giving our girl (Standard Poodle, ~35lbs) free roam privileges for a while now (going 5 months strong, no major accidents) but something we've noticed these past couple weeks is how skinny she is and how she won't eat at all for a whole day. No behavior changes, no weird irregularities, play time is normal, etc. Just her refusal to eat ANYTHING despite her food being… there.
For a bit of info; we feed her 1.5 cups of dry food both morning and night, for a total of 3 cups a day (or try to since she won't eat). What's strange is only recently we've noticed that when we put her food in her crate with the gate latched is when she'll eat – sorry – DEVOUR her food.
Have we been starving her this entire time by not recognizing this habit earlier? Is this normal behavior for pups?
