Weird tail position?

I have a female schnauzer mix. usually when she is excited and alert her tail will curl over her back and when she’s relaxed it’ll lay flat. Every so often she’ll have times where she’ll curl her tail over her thigh sort of, it’s like her excited tail pose but flat on her leg. it’s not tucked. She‘ll do it on her own sometimes but most of the time it’s when I or something touches the base of her tail and then she gets all zoomi-like. Is this a heat response or is my dog just weird?
