Hi, we picked up our puppy (toy poodle) earlier this week at 11 weeks old. I have been trying to focus on the most important things to work on while training him outside of crate training and potty training. I keep reading about how the window for enforcing good habits gets smaller and smaller as he gets older so I feel a tremendous sense of urgency to get things right and not miss out on this golden opportunity.
So I am wondering if anybody can share any insight in to what they feel are the most important things to focus on in this time period of an 11 week old puppy. He has actually been taking to his crate and play pen area really well so far so I feel like this is a big positive already. We are working on the socialization also and have a puppy class early next week. There just seems to be so much that we could train him based on all of the youtube videos and materials am reading. It's a little overwhelming and I am trying to determine what is the absolute best use of time in the hours we actually have to train him.
I appreciate any advice or insights anybody can share.
Thanks!!
