My 1 year 3 month old dog recently (4 days ago) began whining when left alone but only when we leave in the evenings. She has always been good about being left alone for a few hours, she went through a few week phase when we moved but has been over it for several months. She whines for 5-10 minutes really loud and then sleeps. She gets off leash hiking most days plus short sniff walks and training throughout the day and sleeps fine so I am not worried about the exercise being the factor.
I guess I am wondering if others have experienced this? I recently got a new job with a slight schedule change but that keeps me at home with her so really does not affect her. Could this just be a teenage drama thing? Or do I need to be worried and get going on separation anxiety training asap?
