Behaviours that I used to think of as just ‘naughty’ I now see as massive indicators that my pup is tired.
Eg, if he starts digging in the garden, I know he’s gotten way too tired and will immediately put him into his room to nap. He’ll pretty much always immediately fall to sleep!
It’s just surprising because I feel like I barely ever see this dog honestly. About an hour in the morning, an hour at lunchtime, and maybe 3 hours after work and that’s it! Otherwise he’s sleeping or chilling in his room. We’re slowly learning how to chill outside of his crate, but it’s honestly remarkable just how much he sleeps!
He’s in perfect health though. We just do lots of high intensity training, scent work, play and exercise in the time he is away, so he’s always pretty mentally stimulated and ready for a nap. Maybe I’m just getting impatient but I can’t wait for him to be a bit older so we can spend more time together haha!
