I have a 5 month old fluffy frenchie. He is hard work but in no way more than other pups. The thing we've had the most difficulty with is his biting, however most of the time his biting is in a calm way as he's teething and he is quite easy to just lightly push off / distract him with a toy/chew. I've done the walk away/ignore 1000s of times too which doesn't work.
Today I just took him for a walk, it is quite a warm day in the UK today so I was only out for 15-20 minutes with him and didn't walk far at all. He was quite thirsty when he came back and had a big drink. Suddenly i'm sitting on the sofa and he was quite energetic and then suddenly started biting hard. As I said above he normally is easy to stop but this time he was jumping and biting aggressively, really it felt like he was going for me. I pushed him off and he kept coming back, I tried giving him chews but he'd chew them for a second then jump at my face again.
He was barking a lot and going into like a guarded position where he was kinda laying down defensively. His biting tends to get worse when it's time for a lie down but i've never seen it this extreme before. Eventually I managed to pick him up and i've put him in his cage now to calm down. I'm concerned about this incident, he's a lovely clingy boy normally but this was genuinely aggressive as opposed to puppy teething.
Any advice/similar experiences would be appreciated.
