I’m looking for advice on enrichment ideas that don’t require me to participate. Things to keep him busy by himself while I’m cleaning, cooking, etc.
Things we do frequently: – Puzzles (we have 2) – Snuffle mat (we have 2) – Tying high value treats into a towel and letting him work to get the treats out – Scent work (hiding treats throughout the house and letting him search for them) – Bully sticks (and other chews)
We’ve tried frozen treats many times and he is never interested. He doesn’t care about Kongs at all, no matter what we put in there, frozen or not frozen. Side note, what dog doesn’t like peanut butter?!
Things we plan on doing: – Bobbing for apple pieces in water – Getting the treat dispenser with the button
We need more ideas. I feel like we are doing the same things over and over and over again and eventually he is going to get bored. As he gets older, he’s going through the puzzles/chews faster, and it’s getting hard to keep him busy. (Yes, I know he doesn’t need to be occupied 24/7. He is able to calm down and settle on his own)
