I have a (3yo m) lab mix. We live on 2 acres and he is very active. He's a rescue that we adopted at around 2 months old. We got him at around 20lbs and he has grown to a solid 90-100lbs.
He is always hungry. We feed him 2 cups of Kirkland lamb and rice twice a day. He looks healthy to a little heavy. He is always hungry. If I feed him first thing in the morning, he will tell my wife and kids he hasn't been fed yet when they get up.
He will sneak into any food and chow down until he is sick. Garbage, chicken feed, our other dog that grazes on the same food in the house… I accidently left a bag of food open in the garage where he has access and he ate until he was sick multiple days in a row until we figured it out. He has always acted this way.
He gets normal treats. An egg and/or a few dental bones once or twice a day. Loves to play fetch, frisbee, and run with our other dog.
Is there any way to help him not be so hungry all the time.
