Senior amstaff slipping on tile

I have a 13 year old amstaff who has some arthitis and has started slipping on the tile in the house. Most of the house is carpeted, but there is tile from our room to the kitchen that he has to walk over to go outiside/eat/whatever else. This is still happening right after we get his nails trimmed, so it clearly isnt just the nails. I have been doing a little research and found some suggestions, but i am having trouble making a decision. I have read about paw wax, adhesive grippy pads that go on the dogs feet, grippy dog socks, and i found a company called pawtology that sells a kit with like grippy sand and pet safe adhesive. I am wondering if anyone has any experience with any of these products, and which would you reccomend?

A few other questions:

  1. The pawtology kit claims to be "veterinarian developed and non toxic". Does anyone know if this is true?

  2. How effective is paw wax for tile specifically?

  3. My dog likes to lick his feet, sometimes destroys things, and also doesnt particularly like wearing things. How difficult realistically will it be to get him to leave the socks alone if i go that route? Both me and my husband work full time with an hour commute one way, we dont have a lot of time to devote to training him on this.

Note:

We rent, we cannnot get those grippy floor finishes, please dont suggest that. I will also reiterate that hes an amstaff, he doesnt have hairy feet, someone already suggested that to me and he literally does not have hair to be trimmed.
