I adopted Gracie (3y) about 2.5 months ago and all of a sudden she has stopped wanting to go on long walks. She used to love them and get really excited, but now half way through (or less) she is trying to drag me home. A few of the times this has happened the train has gone by about 2 blocks away and I thought maybe she was getting freaked out by the commotion, but it never bothered her previously. During our last walk she started to try and turn around and after about 10 minutes of stop and go she just refused to move. Then the train came a few minutes into trying to coax her into moving in any direction with treats and she started to book it home and was acting terrified. I can’t tell if the train is a coincidence or not because it seems to be the location as well (she has decided she hates one street corner this week as well). I’ve checked her for soreness and her paws for cuts and there is nothing. She also got the zoomies as soon as we got inside and wanted to play. I’m really just not sure what to do or what changed, but she can be a high energy girl and definitely needs her exercise. I also have been LOVING our walks and would be so sad if they were no longer a fun activity for both of us.
P.S. She is the least food motivated dog I’ve ever met. I’ve tried every type of treat/ protein out there and she only likes a handful of things and couldn’t care less about them once her mind is made up.
