Hello I have a 6 year old beagle cocker spaniel mix and I am working on reactivity, separation anxiety, and remedial socialization with him. He has been slowly improving and my aunt asked me to have him meet her dogs through a gate and the video I posted is mostly how he reacted. He was able to listen to commands such as sit and down, and even quiet for the most part, but he would bark at them through the gate like this and sniff them as well. He would occasionally stop barking and walk around without paying much attention to them as well. I was wondering if any of you knew if this is more fear or aggression reactivity. he did not stiffen up but did sometimes do a very low growl but did not attack the gate or anything. he was bitten by a dog before which I think partially caused his reactivity but even after that I have seen him play bow before so I was assuming it wasn't aggression and more just fear or anxiety as he does have separation anxiety and overall reactivity. I have a trainer lined up but they are busy so I was doing some work on my own until then. submitted by /u/Negev223 |
