I have a senior labrador retriever who is constantly using his head like a battering ram. It's not a new behaviour by any means, but as time goes on it's only gotten worse and I'm slowly losing my patience for it, and I have no idea how to encourage him to stop. If you put your hands on him to pet him then he'll turn to you and use all the strength in his body to shove into your petting hand(s). It's not slight pushing, it's him using every pound of his body weight to shove against your hand while flailing his head up and down, side to side, trying to get scratches in what he deems to be the right spot. I just cannot stand the shoving and I'm sick of almost being pushed over all the time! Has anyone experienced something like this?
