Puppy with cats

Hey all!

How would you go about introducing puppy to cats?

We’ve had our puppy (15 weeks old) for just under a month and he’s doing amazing! Lots of puppy energy and he found his bark lol. Generally it’s been amazing.

We keep him in a pen when we can’t watch him or for his naps, otherwise he’s usually on leash or tethered to one of us while he learns the boundaries. He gets lots of time out to explore but the only reason we don’t allow him fully off leash yet is because he barks at the cats or tries to chase them which we do not want to happen.

I don’t believe it’s fear based or even aggression, it’s 100% play. I just don’t know how to go about “training” it. If I’m giving him treats for not barking typically he’s good / won’t chase. Is this correct to do?? Idk.
