Hello,
Our 9 week old dachshund puppy seems to only fall asleep on me and sleeps longer periods if he’s right next to me in his bed than if I put him in his crate once he falls asleep. I’ve seen they get deeper sleeps in their crates but I can’t say I’m seeing that with mine. He’ll sleep in there for about 30 minutes where if he’s next to me he’ll sleep for 1-2 hours. He really hates barriers of any sort and I think this is why. When he wakes for a couple seconds and sees he’s trapped he wakes up and wants out.
Should I still put him in the crate? I WFH so this is the time I get my work done and need him to sleep longer periods.
Also any tips for getting him to settle down when food enrichment activities keep him occupied for not even a minute?
