Puppy in the office schedule

Hi all,

I am looking to add a puppy to my life this coming year. I’ve done my research, know what breed I want, I have experience with puppies, and am pretty confident in my ability to train said puppy. I have a unique situation where I work full time M-F in a very dog-friendly office. I have a general idea for how I can structure puppy’s day while I work but I was hoping someone else out there had similar experience or advice to offer? My only concern is the puppy would probably not have her full round of vaccines before she comes home with me. I wouldn’t be able to take work off just to train and work with her at home before she gets her full round of shots, and I live too far away from work to even consider leaving it at home and then using my lunch break to drive back for a potty break. (30 minutes commute one way, and I have an hour lunch break) All of the other dogs in the office are UTD on their shots and are all very well-mannered. I’d be able to have a baby gate to block them from coming into my office as well as keeping a crate under my desk to encourage naptime while I work in-between walk and play breaks! How concerned do I need to be about potential parvo exposure? I feel like this was never something that I worried about with other puppies in my past up until about 8 years ago then it’s become a huge thing(at least from my vets) was I just uneducated and lucky in the past? Or am I right to be hesitant and cautious? I just don’t see any other way to care for the puppy properly unless it stays with me. I feel like initially leaving it at home would be way too long and just asking for accidents to happen.
