this is… a little embarrassing to write but figured i’d give it a shot to get some advice! i have a border collie pup who is a little over a year old and advised not to neuter until he’s 1.5 – 2 years old. we also have a kitten who is around six months old. both are male, were introduced properly and have gotten along great for the last while! they play together, groom each other etc. neither have ever hurt one another.
a few days ago, however, my puppy started humping. a lot. like, a LOT. my sheets, bed, his own bed, my leg etc. i’ve been pushing him off, telling him no and redirecting and usually this works.
except in one situation. he is obsessive now about trying to hump the kitten. i reinforce the “no“ and “gentle“ commands (command i taught him not to rough play with the cat), but he just goes right back to it.
any advice? it sucks because they get along great beside this one issue!
