Puppy falls asleep on couch, how to get him to do so in crate?

Hello,

We are trying to crate train our 9 week old puppy. We’ve made his crate super cosy, feed him his meals in there etc.

However, he only seems to settle when he’s on the couch and falls asleep. Once he falls asleep we place him into the crate and close the door and he will sleep in his crate with the door shut after.

We have tried putting him in the crate (door open) when he starts to get drowsy but he will walk out.

My question is, how do we encourage him to settle in the crate?
