I have had my beautiful Aussie pup for 4 weeks now. He is about 12 weeks old currently. He is incredibly smart.. we have mastered sit, shake, down, and spin. He is doing really well at potty training. However, I am having a really hard time working on his biting. If this dog is awake then he is constantly trying to go for your hands or arms, and we all know how sharp those teeth are. I feel like I can’t even pet him until he is sleeping.
Are there any structured training routines that focus on bite inhibition? I have been doing collar grab but he is too smart for my good. Once I have treats he knows the game. I have tried all the basic stuff you find during an internet search.. more sleep, rigorous play throughout the day, timeouts, walking away, swapping hands for toys, etc.. for some reason I don’t remember any other puppies being this bitey. Thank you!
