Hello, I have a 5-year-old papillon, male, neutered, who was already fully trained to do his business on the toilet mat. Always polite with positive reinforcement. A few months ago we adopted a dachshund puppy and recently he started to get a good idea of the bathroom, which we thought would be shared with the older one, but based on the puppy's adjustments, we have noticed that the older one no longer feels comfortable with the same place, and is looking for other options around the house. Despite both being neutered, they have some minor territorial competition behaviors. Sometimes they seem to get along well, sometimes they seem to want to set a lot of limits. And we wanted to avoid having to separate spaces or have two bathrooms available at home, since we live in an apartment and only go for a walk once a day.
