For context, I have a 4-month-old Australian Shepherd, and I’ve had him for about 6 weeks now. I expected some biting, but lately it feels like he goes into full “shark mode,” especially in the evenings. He’ll latch onto hands, clothes, anything, and it’s not just gentle play biting anymore. I’ve been trying to redirect him to toys, stop playing when he bites, and even walk away, but sometimes it just doesn’t seem to click. It almost feels like the more I try to correct it, the more excited he gets 😅 I’m also wondering if this could be overtiredness, because it usually happens at the same time every day. Is this normal for this age, or does it sound like I’m reinforcing it somehow without realizing? What actually worked for you to reduce biting? I don’t expect it to stop overnight, but I just want to make sure I’m not making it worse.
